Quad Cities Community Foundation ranks in the top 15%

The rankings are in.  Every year the top U.S. community foundations are ranked nationally.  This year, the Community Foundation improved their positioning by one level, moving from the 113th largest community foundation to the 112th largest.  The Community Foundation, also known as the Community Foundation, is based in Bettendorf, Iowa and covers a 17 county region in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

The Community Foundation continues to grow faster than their peers, but the competition is fierce.  With an estimated 750 community foundations in the U.S., this puts Community Foundation in the top 15%.  “We are thrilled with this movement to 112th largest in the U.S.” said Susan Skora, President & CEO of the Quad Cities Community Foundation.  “With over 940 funds and more than $105 million in assets, we have accomplished so much in 50 years, but still have so much more to do.”

Another ranking is “Activity Volume” which adds the number of gifts and number of grants awarded.  Community Foundation is ranked 65th, putting them in the top 10% of U.S. community foundations for level of transaction volume.

The largest community foundation is the Silicon Valley Community Foundation with $4.7 billion in assets, and 89% donor advised assets.  In Iowa, the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines is ranked 55th with $279 million in assets, with 33% donor advised assets.

“These national rankings reveal a rapidly growing field of community philanthropy in the U.S.,” Skora states.  “We are proud of our leadership position among our peers, and we are grateful to every volunteer, donor, and staff person who makes our success possible.”
