Quad Citizens across the region have stepped up over the past two months to support the Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund at the Quad Cities Community Foundation. Gifts of all sizes—collected in a variety of different ways—have enabled us to raise more than $150,000 in support, all of which will support long-term flood recovery efforts.

Two grant awards have already been made to support flood recovery efforts: to individuals in need, and most recently, to Grow Quad Cities to support businesses on both sides of the river.

“Businesses, groups, families and individuals in the Quad Cities region—and beyond—have been incredibly generous with their resources, turning to the Quad Cities Community Foundation to support flood victims,” said Anne Calder, vice president of development. “There hasn’t been a week that has gone by where we haven’t had individuals and groups stop into the office to make a gift, sometimes collected through a bake sale or special event, sometimes through direct contributions from school groups or employees, and very generous corporate philanthropy.”

Each gift, Calder added, has been critical to supporting communities on both sides of the river working to get back to a “new normal” following the historic flooding of the Mississippi River.

The following businesses and groups have made gifts. The next time you visit them please thank them for their support, and encourage your business or group to make a gift to the Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund here.
