Reopening update for our donors and community partners

As the Quad Cities region considers reopening plans during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quad Cities Community Foundation will continue to place the health and safety of our partners and staff at the forefront of our minds. We do this while also continuing our work to support the region through our philanthropic work.

“The last few months have reminded us that we can do anything when we keep our focus on our mission,” said Sherry Ristau, president and CEO. “I’m grateful to our board, to our staff, and to our community for adapting so that we can carry our mission forward in ways we might never have expected.”

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Foundation has continued operations—and also taken on increased leadership with the activation of the Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund (dollars continue to be raised, and granted, by the way!). We have done so with a team that has mostly worked from home, with minimal hours in the office.

As the community considers the best way to reopen, we too, look at options to open our office in Bettendorf. Here’s what you can expect in the weeks ahead:

  1. Staff members are returning to the office through a phased-in approach, with all staff members working some days in the office and some days remotely. There will be someone in the office every day during regular business hours.

  2. All staff, and all guests, are asked to checked their own temperature before coming to the Community Foundation’s office.

  3. Masks are required of all staff and all guests.

  4. We are limiting visitors to no more than five individuals at one time. We kindly ask that you schedule your visit before coming to the Community Foundation. Our front door is locked during the day—please use the doorbell to notify us of your arrival.

  5. We continue all of the deep cleaning and sanitization practices that our community is becoming more and more accustomed to. Community spaces have been reconfigured for social distancing and to allow in-person meetings (again with no more than five people) in a safe way.

  6. Finally, we continue to leverage technology for meetings whenever possible. We are really enjoying the chance to meet with and support donors and community partners through video conferencing.

The Community Foundation encourages our community to call our offices at (563) 326-2840 with any questions, or to schedule an appointment.
