’Tis the season for year-end gifting and granting

Supply-chain woes may be putting a wrinkle in your holiday shopping plans, but your opportunity to give gifts of a different sort is better than ever right now at the Quad Cities Community Foundation.

From capturing soon-to-expire tax savings to memorializing loved ones and supporting the causes you care about, take the time to explore the advantages of making charitable gifts before the end of the year.

We are here to help you give in the best way possible.

Take advantage of special 2021 tax savings

Did you know that the special tax incentives for donors that were extended by the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020 are set to expire at the end of the year?

Whether you take the standard deduction or itemize, you still have time to secure special tax savings when you give before the end of the year. Corporate donors have the opportunity to save, too! To learn more about what these savings could mean for you, contact Anne Calder at (563) 326-2840 or annecalder@qccommunityfoundation.org.

Honor someone special

We’ve spent much of the last year reflecting on the people, places, and things most important to us. This holiday season, make a tribute gift to the community fund, nonprofit fund, scholarship, or donor fund of your choice in honor or in memory of your loved ones.

When you pay tribute, we will send a card to the person your gift honors or to the family of the person your gift memorializes to celebrate that they inspired your generosity. To learn more, give Joscelyn Rowe a call at (563) 326-2840 or email her at joscelynrowe@qccommunityfoundation.org or gift online through our website and select “Tribute” to add your honoree.

Looking for inspiration?

If you’re looking for ideas on where you can grant from a donor-advised fund this year, our Community Foundation staff are here to help! We know of opportunities and current needs in the community that just might be a match for you. You can also grant to the Quad Cities Community Impact Fund to join with others in supporting needs across the community or to the Friends of the Foundation Endowment to support the Community Foundation’s services to the community.

Wherever the spirit of year-end gifting and granting takes you this holiday season, thank you for your generosity.
