Community Foundation names new director of corporate philanthropy
The Quad Cities Community Foundation has announced that Jean Moran will join the organization as the new director of corporate philanthropy. Moran, a longtime Community Foundation volunteer, board member, and advocate, will lead the organization’s ongoing efforts to expand corporate and business philanthropy in the Quad Cities region.
“Partnering with businesses and corporations has been essential to the Community Foundation’s mission for many years,” said Sue Hafkemeyer, the Community Foundation’s president and CEO. “Part of our strategic vision for the coming years is to build on those partnerships and leverage the generosity of local businesses as we continue to transform the region. This new position is critical to achieving that goal, and I can think of no one better suited for it than Jean.”
Research shows that corporate philanthropy is important to both customers and employees. Purpose-driven companies experience more loyalty, more growth, and more customer satisfaction. Increasingly, companies are choosing to operate private foundations, offer matching gift programs to employees, and find other ways to participate in philanthropy. All of these options come with questions and challenges. The Community Foundation provides expert advice and flexible giving options to companies of all sizes.
As the director of corporate philanthropy, Moran will introduce new corporate giving strategies, develop and build relationships with local companies, and maintain the high standard of consultive and customer service practices the Community Foundation has provided for years.
“I know that corporations strongly want to be good neighbors and to be part of positive change in our region,” said Moran. “The Community Foundation is the place where business leaders can turn that desire into tangible practice. We have the knowledge and the relationships that will amplify the impact of corporate giving.”
With a professional background in pharmaceutical and medical sales, Moran has been involved with the Community Foundation for more than 15 years. Moran first participated as a volunteer committee member before joining the board of directors in 2013. Her time on the board included two years as board chair.
“I am honored to serve the Community Foundation in this new role,” said Moran. “Our organization is the go-to expert for corporations hoping to make a local impact through giving. We’re going to expand what we can offer corporations as we grow existing partnerships and work with business leaders to make the Quad Cities a prosperous and vibrant place for everyone.”
