Fulton area donors rise to the occasion

In 2024, the Quad Cities Community Foundation challenged donors with a $40,000 Endowment Match opportunity. During the challenge, every dollar donated to a Community Foundation was doubled—one area where generosity was shining particularly bright was Fulton, Illinois.

Donors rose to the occasion and supported a number of funds that benefit the Fulton community, including funds held by the Fulton Association for Community Enrichment (FACE), an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation.

For Dave Ray, FACE board chair, this level of generosity comes as no surprise. “The Fulton community is filled with generous, caring people,” he said. “When our neighbors see an opportunity to give back, help each other, and strengthen the future of our community, they jump at it.”

Each year, FACE awards thousands of dollars in grants to dozens of local organizations working to enhance and improve the educational, cultural, recreational, and economic environment in Fulton and the surrounding areas. The fund assists individuals, families, businesses, and organizations in meeting their charitable giving goals by supporting the causes that matter to them in the Fulton community.

“The work of FACE and other local organizations have helped steward the inspiring philanthropic spirit of the Fulton area,” said Anne Calder, the Community Foundation’s vice president of development. “We are incredibly proud to partner with them and the donors that are lifting up so many amazing projects in the community.”
