From Awareness to Action - A Roadmap for Nonprofit Professionals -– Advancing Equity Workshop Part 1

This interactive 2-hour workshop, led by consultant Heather Hathaway Miranda, HATHAWAY MIRANDA LLC, serves as the first session in a two-part series on fundamentals to advance equity, centering the human experience at every step. Participants will craft a personalized roadmap that reflects both their individual growth and their organization’s equity journey. They will explore core principles of fostering a more inclusive and equitable organization through meaningful dialogue and reflection. This session empowers participants to create lasting change rooted in empathy, understanding, and action.

Participant Outcomes & Learning Objectives:

1. Understand Core Principles:

Participants will articulate key concepts of inclusion and equity, and examine how these principles shape an organization’s culture and practices.

2. Enhance Empathy and Reflective Practice:

Through guided reflection and dialogue, participants will deepen their ability to engage with diverse perspectives and apply empathy-driven approaches to workplace interactions.

3. Commit to Sustained Action:

Participants will identify at least three specific, measurable actions they can implement to advance equity through efforts within their teams and across the organization.

The afternoon session, Part 2, will take a deeper dive into practical strategies for embedding these concepts at your organization.
