This scholarship is awarded every four years and will award a new scholarship in 2027.

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $1,000 a year.
Renewable: Yes, for up to four years or until graduation, whichever comes first. Renewable Conditions: Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior at Rock Island High School. 

  • Applicant must have at least a 3.0 grade point average. 

  • Applicant must plan to attend either an Illinois or an Iowa college or university as a full-time student. 

  • Applicant must be pursuing a major in engineering, science, or nursing. 

  • Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience.

  • Achievement evaluated by ACT or SAT testing and school transcript.

 

Bill and Hilda Macomber and Alta Kahl Scholarship

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $1,000.
Renewable: Recipients may reapply.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a high school senior that is a resident of Buffalo, Iowa; Blue Grass, Iowa; or Walcott, Iowa.

  • Applicant must plan to enroll full-time at a college, university or technical school in Iowa.

  • Financial need is the main criteria.

  • Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities and work experience.

  • Achievement evaluated by ACT or SAT testing and school transcript.

  • Recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) to reapply.

 

Bryant-Holmes Scholarship for Mercer County High School

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $1,000 a year.
Renewable: Yes, for up to for four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from Mercer County High School.

  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA or show a marked improvement during the last two years of high school.

  • Merit will be determined by extracurricular activities and work experience.

  • Preference will be given for the length of time attending school in the Mercer County school system and for those pursuing a degree in teaching or agriculture.

 

CLEM WERNER WALCOTT SCHOLARSHIP

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $2,000 a year.
Renewable: Yes, for up to four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria. 

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicant must have attended Walcott School in Walcott, Iowa for at least a portion of his/her K-8 studies, and have graduated from Davenport Public Schools.

  • Financial need is the main criteria.

  • Applicant must have between 2.75 and 3.75 on a 4.0 GPA scale (or equivalent average).

  • Applicant must plan to enroll full-time for the purpose of earning credits from an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university or trade school.

  • A preference will be given to a student interested in pursuing studies in business, banking, finance, or agriculture.

 

Corky Kress Golf Scholarship

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from Waterloo West High School, Waterloo, Iowa; Davenport North High School; or Bettendorf High School. 

  • Applicant must plan to enroll in a two-year or four-year program at a college or university.

  • Applicant must have an average academic record, based on the grading system in place at the time.

  • Applicant must be a member of the high school golf team and letter in golf.

  • Financial need will be the major criteria for the scholarship.

 

Dave Slater Environmental and Conservation Scholarship

Amount: Up to $1,000 a year.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be graduating, or have graduated in the last two years, from a high school in Scott County, Iowa.

  • Applicant must intend to enroll at an educational institution in Iowa in order to earn a two- or four-year degree.

  • Applicant must demonstrate an interest in conservation or environmental science and submit an essay on what they hope to contribute to these causes.

  • Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale (or equivalent average).

  • Merit evaluated by character (school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience) and academics (GPA, test scores). 

 

Dearrel Bates Memorial Scholarship

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $1,250.
Renewable: No.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a high school senior graduating from a MAC Conference high school, excluding Burlington, Iowa.

  • Applicant must have at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

  • Applicant must plan to be full-time student working toward a bachelor’s degree in education.

  • Financial need is the main criteria.

  • Merit evaluated by school activities, community, personal, and work experience.

 

Dr. & Mrs. Yang Ho Rhee Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,500.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicant must be of Korean descent (at least one biological grandparent).

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior at a high school in the counties of Rock Island, Illinois or Scott, Iowa.

  • Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper 1/3 of his or her graduation class.

  • Applicant must plan to enroll as a full-time college student for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree.

  • Financial need is a factor to be considered, but is not the determining factor.

 

Don E. & Charlotte Williams Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist to individuals pursuing an education at colleges and other post-high school institutions, including trade and technical schools.

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $3,500 a year for full-time students and $75 per semester hour for part-time students. 
Renewable: Yes, for up to four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must reside in Scott County, Iowa or Rock Island County, IL, OR

  • If the applicant does not reside in the counties specified, the applicant must be a lineal descendant or dependent of a former employee (worldwide) of Don E. Williams Company.

  • Applicant may be a graduating high school senior or a non-traditional student.

  • Applicant must not yet have a bachelor’s degree.

  • Applicant should show evidence of leadership and character.

  • Applicant should submit an essay describing how their planned education will enable the applicant to achieve gainful employment in the applicant's chosen career.

  • Financial aid is a consideration, but not the determining factor.

  • Criteria include academic achievement, applicant’s determination to achieve his or her educational goals, and evidence of well-rounded interests and concern for others.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are lineal descendants of a former employee of the Don E. Williams Company who was in good standing with the company during their employment.

 

Donna Jean Arzberger Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will award a new scholarship in 2027.

Amount: Up to $2,000.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from Assumption, Central, West or North High Schools in Davenport, IA.

  • Applicant must have at least a 2.7 GPA.

  • Recipient will have demonstrated interest in college preparatory and/or technical/vocational studies.

  • Recipient will have demonstrated a strong presence in his/her school community.

 

Edwin R. Adland & Ruth H. Adland Scholarship

  • Although not an emphasis on academics, the applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

 

FRANCES S. WOLFE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded every four years and will award a new scholarship in 2025.

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $750.
Renewable: Yes, for up to four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Maintain satisfactory academic progress and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicants must be a graduating senior from Davenport Central High School with demonstrated financial need.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university with a focus on the study of education, English or literature.

Gustav A. and Gerda H.C. Anderson Scholarship

Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Scott County, Iowa.

  • Applicant must have a GPA of at least a 3.0 or be in the upper third of their graduating class.

  • Applicant must plan on being a full-time student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor's degree with the purpose of teaching elementary or secondary education.

  • First preference will be given to applicants who have taken at least two full years of German as a language class in high school.

  • Second preference will be given to applicants who plan on teaching elementary or secondary education in eastern Iowa or western Illinois.

 

Harry and Myrtle Nabstedt SCHOLARSHIP

Need-based: Yes. Scholarship Amount: Up to $8,000 per year. Renewable: Yes, for up to 5 years or until graduation from their current undergraduate or graduate degree, whichever comes first. Students who wish to subsequently be considered for a graduate scholarship after receiving an undergraduate scholarship would need to submit a new application. Renewable Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicants must be a graduate of a high school in Scott County, Iowa.

  • Scholarships may be given for either undergraduate or graduate study at any accredited community college, college, or university, or accredited trade/technical school.

  • Applicants would be evaluated according to:

    • Academics (Minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent grade point average)

    • Demonstrated financial need

    • Merit shown by involvement in community, school, work, or personal activities

  • Scholarships may be used for the costs of tuition, fees, books, and room and board.

  • Scholarships may be renewed for a total of five years of scholarship support, or until graduation from their current undergraduate or graduate degree, whichever comes first. Recipients must demonstrate adequate academic progress (GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale) at their educational institution to receive the next year’s scholarship payment. Students who wish to subsequently be considered for a graduate scholarship after receiving an undergraduate scholarship would need to submit a new application.

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from one of the following schools: Davenport Central, North, West; Bettendorf; or Rivermont Collegiate. One recipient will be selected from each school.

  • Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper one-third of his or her graduating class.

  • Applicant must plan to be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree at a member of the North Central Accrediting Agency or an equivalent accrediting agency in another geographic region in the United States.

  • Financial need is a consideration.

  • Applicant's high school curriculum should have an emphasis on college preparatory classes.

  • It is the Werners’ strong preference that the recipient attend a private liberal arts school located outside of the 150-mile radius of Arsenal Island.

 

John R. Kiley Memorial Scholarship

LOREN AND TAMMY BOCKWOLDT FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

  • Applicant must attend an educational institution with a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, technical degree, professional certification, professional registration, or licensure.

  • Selection criteria include financial need, academics based on GPA and transcript, and character based on extracurricular activities, community and personal activities, and letters of recommendation.

  • Applicant must possess strong leadership ability and have participated in their school’s extracurricular activities.

  • Applicant must attend an educational institution with a curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, technical degree, professional certification, professional registration, or licensure.

Morency Family Scholarship

The Morency Family Scholarship was established to assist young adults with bettering themselves through continuing education and/or training. The primary focus of the scholarship is to assist individuals who financially might not otherwise be able to continue their education or training after graduation from high school. The number of scholarships awarded may vary from year to year. The target is to award at least two scholarships per year – one each to an Iowa and to an Illinois resident.

Need-based: Yes. 
Amount: Up to $2,000 a year.
Renewable: Yes, until graduation, or until 25 years of age, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicant must be graduating or have graduated from a high school that is located in Carroll County, IL; Rock Island County, IL; Whiteside County, IL; Clinton County, IA; Muscatine County, IA; or Scott County, IA.

  • Applicants receiving GED certification are also eligible to apply.

  • Applicant must have at least a 2.0 GPA but no more than a 3.0 GPA (Higher GPAs may be considered, if necessary, to award all available scholarships).

  • Applicant must be enrolled in, or have been accepted into an educational institution/program and intend on working towards a degree, diploma, certificate of completion, etc.

  • Scholarships may be used to attend any accredited college or university (including online universities), or to receive vocational training/education.

  • Financial need is the primary consideration.

  • Preference will be given (but not a determining factor) to applicants who have at any time been in the foster care system.

 

Paul and Barbara Yamber Memorial STEM Scholarship

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $10,000 a year. 
Renewable: Yes, for up to four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Continue in a STEM-related field of study and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection Criteria: 

  • Applicant must be pursuing a STEM related education and career (computer technology; mathematical sciences; engineering and surveying; and natural, physical, and medical sciences).

  • Financial need is the main selection criteria. This scholarship is intended for a student for which the scholarship would make the difference in being able to attend college.

  • Scholarship may be used for university/college fees including tuition, room & board, books, fees, etc. (but not off-campus housing at a community college)

  • Applicant must have demonstrated good potential to be successful in a STEM curriculum as demonstrated by a STEM course competency during high school.

  • Applicant should have already demonstrated commitment to working to enable paying for a portion of their education.

  • Preference given to applicants pursuing an undergraduate degree.

  • Applicants may enroll in a community college for Freshman and/or Sophomore year.

  • School activities, community activities and essay are secondary to financial need, academics and work history.

 

QUAD CITIES SCHOLARSHIP FOR IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES

This scholarship is awarded every six years (or earlier) and will award a new scholarship in 2028.

Need-based: Yes.
Amount: Up to $4,000.
Renewable: Yes, for up to six years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.

Renewal Conditions: Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and continue to meet other scholarship criteria.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a refugee, immigrant, or child of at least one immigrant or refugee.

  • Planning to earn a degree or certification at any accredited community college, college, or university, or accredited trade/technical school.

  • Financial need is a consideration.

  • Merit shown by involvement in community, school, work, or personal activities.

Sophia N. Hapke Scholarship 

Need-based: Yes. 
Amount:  1 scholarship of up to $5,000 will be awarded in 2025.
Renewable:  No.

Requirements and selection criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior at an accredited public or parochial Davenport High School.

  • Financial need is the main consideration.

  • Applicant must have at least an ACT score of 26 and a GPA of 3.250. Weighted GPA must be converted to unweighted GPA for application.

  • Applicant must plan to enroll at an accredited four-year college or university in the USA.

  • Awards are made on the basis on academic achievement, financial need, moral character, finalist interview and such additional criteria as may be deemed appropriate by the Selection Committee.

  • Personal interview with the Hapke Scholarship Committee required.

 

Stephanie Gorsh Memorial SCHOLARSHIP 

Need-based: Yes.
Amount:  Up to $800.
Renewable:  No.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Must be a graduate of a high school in Scott County, IA.

  • Must be attending a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university, or accredited trade school.

  • Major criteria will be financial need and demonstrated community service.

  • Must have a GPA of at least 2.25 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Preference for a female student.

 

Steve & Virginia mutziger Scholarship

This scholarship is typically awarded every two years and will award a new scholarship in 2025.

Amount: Up to $4,000 a year.

Scholarship Amount: Up to $3,500 a year.
Renewable: Yes, for four years total or until graduation, whichever comes first.
Renewal Conditions: Remain in good standing and continue to meet other scholarship criteria. If the student accelerates their studies and completes their bachelor's degree in less than four years, the entire scholarship amount will be paid. If the student drops out of school for up to one year for legitimate reasons, the scholarship will resume when they return to school. The student would need to reapply if the interruption is for longer than one year.

Requirements and selection criteria:

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior at a public school in Davenport, Bettendorf, or Pleasant Valley School Districts.

  • Applicant must plan to enroll full-time at the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University or the State University of Iowa for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor’s degree and pursuing a major in education.

  • Applicant must plan to attend an accredited educational institution to earn a college degree or a career-related certificate.

  • Applicant must have earned at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in high school or in their most recent formal education. However, academic achievement should not be the primary determining factor in selecting a recipient from those who meet eligibility requirements.

  • The main criteria is the applicant’s demonstration of the connection of their educational plans to their career goals through essay, activities, and academics. Other criteria include community involvement and leadership, and academic achievement (25%).

  • Criteria to be considered include, but are not limited to: the applicants' participation in extracurricular activities, community service, work experience and academic achievement.

  • Academic achievement is secondary to the essay, school activities, community activities and work history.

  • Two letters of recommendation are required: one from someone employed at the sponsoring dealership (preferably an owner, officer, or general manager of the dealership) and the second from a reference of applicant’s choosing. The letters of recommendation should not come from anyone related to you. For example, if your parent is the general manager of a dealership, you are eligible for the scholarship. However, the letter of recommendation from someone employed at the sponsoring dealership must be from someone else at the dealership.
