President & CEO position

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the Community Foundation began as the Davenport Area Foundation in 1964 for the purpose of pooling the charitable resources of local philanthropists.  Reflecting its growing regional presence in the Quad Cities, bordering Northeastern Iowa and Northwestern Illinois, it was renamed the Quad Cities Community Foundation in 1997.  Today, the Community Foundation operates in 17 counties and has assets slightly over $100 million comprised of more than 900 distinct charitable funds including the assets of 13 affiliate community foundations.  The Foundation has distributed a total of more than $40 million in community grants to organizations in the region. 

The Quad Cities Community Foundation is in a growth mode.  Through its demonstrable success over the last ten years, the Board has continued its resolve to enhance its presence in the region as the center for philanthropic resources and services.  To achieve this goal, the Community Foundation adopted its current strategic priorities:  1) higher community profile and impact, 2) significant asset growth based on exceptional donor service and 3) enhanced stakeholder relationships.  The President & CEO will be responsible to lead these efforts and to provide the vision for success going forward. 

We seek a proven leader whose passion for service to the community has been proven throughout his or her professional career. This person will demonstrate evidence of being an articulate and inspirational champion of the organization who is highly visible and totally engaged in the life of the community. Qualified candidates may come from the non-profit, business or public service sectors including community or private grant making foundations.  A knowledge of regional economic and community development planning would also be helpful.  Formal academic preparation, including training and/or certification in fields related to law, business, financial planning or nonprofit management, is expected.
